The Alexander Partnership appoints Francesca Lanza Tans as CEO

Francesca Lanza Tans will become Chief Executive Officer at The Alexander Partnership from the 1st of April, succeeding Becky Falkingham who will continue as a partner. Francesca will drive further diversity, internationalisation and growth of the organisation, and strengthen its positioning as a thought leader in executive coaching and as a trusted advisor to executives and leadership teams.

After a successful international career in Investment Banking with J.P. Morgan and as Managing Director for Goldman Sachs, Francesca Lanza Tans – who is Italian, was educated in the US and has lived and worked in the US, Asia and the Middle East – transitioned to executive coaching at The Alexander Partnership where she has been a partner since 2015 helping to drive exceptional growth with an emphasis on professional and financial services, TMT and retail / luxury goods franchises. She has also led several strategic initiatives to broaden and deepen the partnership’s client reach, and solidify its leading position in board room executive coaching.

Commenting on the appointment, John Ainley, Chair of The Alexander Partnership, said:

“Francesca is an incredibly perceptive and talented leader and coach. Her advice and guidance to our clients is highly valued and we look forward, under her leadership, to further enhancing our position as the most effective and quality focused Executive Coaching, Executive Team and Culture Development firm for the most senior leaders. I would also like to thank Becky for her leadership and support to her fellow partners and our clients. She has successfully navigated us through a challenging two years, and will continue to be a key partner at Alexander with a focus on working with CEOs – newly appointed and established – and their top teams, as well as supporting Francesca in her new role.”

Francesca added:

“I am tremendously excited to be stepping into the CEO role and honoured to help shape the next chapter of The Alexander Partnership, 40 years since Graham Alexander first pioneered the executive coaching concept. It is a privilege to be working so closely with such extraordinary partners, and to be engaging with exceptional industry leaders whose ambition, innovation and strategic intuition continue to enhance our thought leadership.

“The challenging environment we have faced over recent years has sharpened organisational focus on sustainability, purpose and engagement. Our mission, supported by our decades-long experience, is to help executives and boards deliver on that challenge with fresh and dynamic thinking. I would also like to thank John for his support and counsel since I joined Alexander, and Becky for her outstanding leadership and contribution to the Partnership. I look forward to our close collaboration and their guidance in the years to come.”

As well as her role at The Alexander Partnership, Francesca is also a non-executive director of illimity Bank, a high-tech digital banking group serving the Eurozone, and sits on the advisory board of Atlas Merchant Capital, a global investment firm.
